Are you a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety professional looking to make a meaningful impact across a diverse operational environment? If so, this is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation committed to strengthening its approach to health, safety and wellbeing and continuously improving standards across its services.
As a Health & Safety Adviser, you will play a key role in shaping, influencing and continuously improving the Council’s health and safety management arrangements. You will work in partnership with Services to ensure compliance with statutory requirements while promoting a positive safety culture that supports safe, healthy and resilient workplaces.
This is a varied and dynamic role, providing professional advice across a broad range of service areas. You will support managers in identifying risks, developing suitable and sufficient control measures, and embedding effective risk management practices. You will also contribute to the development of policies, procedures and guidance and support the analysis of incident data to drive continuous improvement.
You will hold a NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent) and have a strong, up‑to‑date working knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice. You will bring experience across a range of disciplines, ideally within a local authority or similarly complex organisation, and be confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels. You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and experienced in working with health and safety management systems. Experience of the Evotix Assure system would be advantageous.
This is a permanent, full-time position (37 hours per week). We offer a supportive, collaborative working environment and flexible, hybrid working arrangements to help you balance professional and personal commitments.
