Job Advert

For Falkirk Council employees the post could be considered for secondment.  Prior to application please obtain confirmation from your current Line Manager that you can be released to take up this opportunity, should you be successful.

We are delighted to invite applications for our Interagency Training Coordinator post. The postholder will job-share with the current postholder who is reducing hours in the new financial year. This post is funded externally until 31st March 2027. Funding may be extended however this is not guaranteed.

The post responds to workforce development actions reflected in Falkirk Child Protection Committee and Children and Young People’s Strategic Leadership Group Business and Improvement Plans. The postholder will join our active Multi-agency Learning and Development group responsible for oversight of the design, delivery, evaluation and review of learning and development programmes and activities. As part of this process the postholder will be expected to work alongside children, young people and families.

Sustained investment in well-resourced and coordinated inter-agency learning and development provision is recognised as necessary to enable us to meet current and future demands. Our Public Protection Chief Officers group commissioned a joint paper in 2025 on sustaining learning from Learning Reviews and recently agreed to the development of a Learning and Communications Framework designed to invest in embedding joint learning over one-off activity.

The Promise Scotland places the need for workforce development, immersed in reflective practice, to be “at the heart of service planning”. Investment in our inter-agency workforce enables us to create the conditions for building confidence and competence in a focussed and consistent way.

We are looking for a passionate and creative individual with experience in workforce development who will join us in our ambition to embed a strong inter-agency learning culture across adult and children’s services. We seek to extend our delivery of quality joint training, learning and development opportunities leading to increased quality joint working across services.

Applicants should hold a professional qualification at degree level in Social Work, Education, Nursing or equivalent.

This post is temporary until March 2027 due to service requirement.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
