Are you an Internal Auditor looking for a new challenge?  Are you a fully qualified member of a relevant Chartered Professional Body, such as CIIA, CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, and have experience of working in a team delivering an internal audit service, preferably in the public sector?  We have an excellent opening for an extremely motivated and proficient Internal Auditor to join us.

Falkirk Council is looking to appoint a highly motivated Internal Auditor to support assurance and continuous improvement, in respect of the Council’s arrangements for risk management, governance, and control.  Internal Audit provides Internal Audit services to all Falkirk Council services, Falkirk Pension Fund, Falkirk Integration Joint Board and, via a Joint Working Agreement, to Clackmannanshire Council, Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board, and Clackmannanshire and Stirling Integration Joint Board.  The section also provides Internal Audit services to Strathcarron Hospice on a commercial basis.

Internal Auditors are responsible for assisting with the management and delivery of a programme of Internal Audit assignments for the full range of clients mentioned above, derived from their agreed Annual Internal Audit Plans.  The workload is diverse, covers risk based and system audits, continuous auditing assignments, system development reviews, special investigations, and consultancy work and advice undertaken at the request of Services.

You will be able to plan, prioritise, perform, and document audit work, and to write clear and concise reports that include appropriate, documented evidence based conclusions and recommendations.  A good understanding of corporate governance is required, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with clients to agree findings and recommendations, sometimes in challenging situations.

The successful candidate will be subject to a standard disclosure check.  If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be invited to complete the disclosure application and have your details verified.
