The Falkirk Council area is home to Scotland’s largest Industrial complex, the largest container port and a diverse business community. The area is important to the nations transformational economic change, as we transition towards a Net Zero economy. To meet the challenges ahead, Falkirk Council with partners is leading on nationally significant economic growth and investment programmes. These ambitious and transformational programmes that the Council leads on include the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal programme, Forth Green Freeport, Falkirk Tax Increment Finance Programme, the Falkirk Levelling Up Funds programme and Greener Grangemouth. Within these programmes are projects that aim to transform our economy, places, and communities, create enabling infrastructure and bring forward major developments.
We are now seeking an experienced and ambitious manager to head up our Investment Programmes Management Unit who have a pivotal role in delivering these programmes and the projects. Sitting within the Investment, Assets and Climate Division of the Council’s Place Services the postholder will report and work closely with the Head of Service and be engaged regularly with the wider senior leadership team. The successful candidate will manage a team of professional officers to ensure that the projects and programmes are delivered effectively and efficiently. They will work collaboratively with Industry leaders, key stakeholders, politicians, communities and both the UK and Scottish Governments to deliver mutually agreed outcomes and outputs.
