Modern Apprentice (5 posts) - Early Years Officer
Falkirk’s Early Years Officers are highly valued professionals within Falkirk’s Education Service. By providing high quality, interesting and exciting play experiences they support positive outcomes for young children (aged 2-5), which are long lasting through life.
We are committed to providing career development opportunities for our Early Years Officers. We offer many training and development opportunities to support daily practice. In addition, we support experienced practitioners to undertake additional qualifications such as certification in supporting children with additional support needs, the Froebel in Childhood Practice certificate and, for those who are keen for career progression, the BA Childhood Practice.
What you will get as an Early Years Officer Apprentice
- You will train towards becoming a fully qualified Early Years Officer. On completion of your apprenticeship you will gain the Social Services Children & Young People (Level 3) which is equivalent to the HNC Childhood Practice, the benchmark practitioner qualification for the early learning and childcare sector.
- You will be based in one of Falkirk’s early learning and childcare establishments and will spend the majority of your week working directly with children under supervision.
- You will be assigned a workplace mentor/assessor who will guide you through your studies and provide practical advice on how to ensure that you carry out your role.
- You will work as part of a supportive team of ELC professionals who will involve you in the life and work of the nursery.
