Join us in shaping the future of health and social care commissioned services
Are you an experienced procurement professional looking to make a real difference in health and social care?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Procurement Specialist to join our developing HSCP Commissioning Team. We are looking for an experienced and motivated procurement professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes for people and communities and who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role offers the chance to help shape ways of working while supporting the delivery of high-quality services that improve outcomes for local people.
Working across a diverse portfolio of commissioned health and social care services, you will work with service leads to support activity across the full commissioning and procurement cycle, from service planning and market engagement through to procurement, contract management, review, and continuous improvement.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of commissioning or procuring social care services, although applications from individuals with broader public sector procurement experience are also welcomed.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues, providers, service users and their carers, and partners, providing expert procurement advice and helping to deliver innovative, effective, and sustainable services. We're looking for someone with:
- Significant public sector procurement experience
- Strong knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice
- Strategic needs assessment and service planning
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Experience of managing complex procurement exercises
- Contract and supplier relationship management
This is a particularly exciting time to join us. Our Commissioning Team is continuing to develop and evolve, creating opportunities for you to influence how we work, shape new approaches, and contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration and service transformation.
This post is temporary until March 2028 to cover a temporary project.
If you are interested, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact Suzanne Thomson, Commissioning Lead to arrange a discussion at suzanne.thomson@falkirk.gov.uk
Thank you for considering furthering your career with Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership.
