The Opportunity – R&M Contracts Officer (Electrical)
We are currently seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our Electrical Team as an R&M Contracts Officer. In this vital role, you will be responsible for monitoring the quality of maintenance services delivered by both our in-house electrical team and external service providers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Overseeing and ensuring the quality of electrical maintenance, servicing, and related works meet contract conditions and agreed standards.
- Identifying and advising on any remedial actions needed to improve service delivery.
- Co-ordinating and organising the day-to-day operations and resources within the Electrical section of our Building Maintenance team.
- Supporting the Council’s drive for service improvement through close collaboration with colleagues across multiple departments.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who wants to make a genuine impact on public services. You’ll bring your expertise and enthusiasm to ensure that all electrical maintenance contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with specification and regulation.
You should have:
- Experience in a NIC/EIC supervisory role (QS) or equivalent and be eligible to enter the NIC/EIC Qualified Supervisor scheme.
- City & Guilds qualifications in SJIB 2391 and 2382-18”
- An HNC or equivalent in a building maintenance-related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of electrical legislation, health and safety requirements, contract management, finance, and estimating.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a high level of integrity and a can-do attitude.
