Shape your future. Shape ours.
Falkirk Council is transforming, and we’re looking for people who want to make a real difference in the quality of homes across our communities. With over 7,000 employees delivering services that matter, we’re ambitious about the future – and you can be part of it.
We’re recruiting two Technical Support Officers to join our Asset & Investment Team, supporting the long‑term improvement and management of our housing stock.
About the role
You’ll carry out Stock Condition Surveys and Energy Efficiency Assessments across our domestic housing stock and selected commercial properties. Your work will help shape our Housing Investment Programme (HIP) by providing accurate, up‑to‑date information on the condition of our buildings, the life expectancy of components, and where investment is needed.
Key parts of the role include:
- Surveying properties to assess condition, repairs and maintenance needs
- Recording accurate measurements and data to update our Stock Condition Database
- Reviewing existing records to inform inspections
- Providing clear, practical technical advice to colleagues
- Helping ensure our homes remain safe, warm and of a high standard
This is a hands‑on role where your professional judgement will directly influence future investment decisions and the quality of homes across Falkirk.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have:
- Experience carrying out House Condition Surveys
- Strong knowledge of construction technology
- Understanding of reactive and planned maintenance in domestic housing
- Ability to assess property condition and make evidence‑based recommendations
- Confidence working independently across a wide range of properties
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
Why Falkirk Council?
You’ll be part of a purpose‑driven organisation where your work has real impact. We empower our people, support learning and creativity, and give you the chance to contribute to positive change across our communities.
Our values — Responsive, Innovative, Trusted and Ambitious (RITA) — guide how we work and how we’ll support you to grow. You’ll be encouraged to use modern tools, bring ideas, solve problems, and help deliver meaningful improvements for our tenants. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.
If you want your work to matter — and to see the difference you make — we’d love to hear from you.
