Exciting opportunities have arisen for Temporary full-time Social Care Officers within the Care and Support at Home Service in the West, East, and Central Locality Teams. 

The Temporary positions will be for the period up to 31st March 2027, pending the progression of the Homecare Re-design process.   

As a Social Care Officer, you will be responsible for the reviewing and maintaining of outcome-based assessments and reviews of service user needs which are effective in promoting independence, and meeting individuals desired outcomes and aspirations.  

You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels considering the variety of complex, contentious and sensitive situations that occur both internal and external to the organisation. You must have the ability to prioritise your workload and work without constant supervision, and in addition, work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

You will receive induction and developmental training and work closely with our colleagues in the Health and Social Care Partnership to achieve best outcomes for Service Users.

Due to the nature of the post, it is essential that you are familiar with and are competent in computer IT systems including Word and Excel packages. In addition, you will receive full training on computer systems specific to the Health and Social Care Partnership, e.g., Liquidlogic.

You must have the ability to be mobile across the Council area.

You will require to commit to a rostered shift working pattern including weekends and public holidays which currently consists of 10 days worked over a 14-day period. The contracted hours of the post are 37 hours per week; but these will be averaged over a 2-week roster period with the current shift times being 9am until 4.54pm (includes 30-minute unpaid break). The post involves periods of lone working.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
