Job Advert

We are proud to have a workforce with values that promote human rights, social justice and professional integrity. We recognise the importance of diversity within our organisation that reflects the communities we serve.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join our busy Children with Disabilities team. This is a small and well established multi-disciplinary team which includes Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and a Co-ordinator of Inclusive Support. The team is based in the Camelon Social Work office and supports families across the Falkirk area.

This team works closely with a range of multi-agency professionals to undertake assessment of need for children with permanent or profound learning or physical disability or sensory impairment. It is also responsible for co-ordinating, supporting and reviewing the provision of care and support services to children and their families. The nature of the multi-agency care and support will require the successful candidate to work closely with a range of professionals and services. Therefore strong communication and organisational skills are required.

The team works alongside families to support positive change and good outcomes for children affected by a disability. The successful candidate should have experience of using a relationship based and solution focused approach, to effectively assess risk and identify supports to mitigate against these. The successful candidate will take part in a duty rota and contribute towards ongoing service improvement activity.

This post requires qualification at Social Work Degree and registration with SSSC. Experience of frontline Children and Families work is desirable. The successful candidate will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

Why you should consider Falkirk as the next step in your Social Work career.
