Windsor Park School and Sensory Service educates and supports children and young people aged 0-18 with deafness across Falkirk Council.

Windsor Park School is a multidenominational provision, consisting of Primary and Secondary Departments. Windsor Park is specifically for pupils who require a high level of support to develop language and/or alternative communication skills at primary and secondary stages. A Total Communication approach is used at all times.

Our purpose built primary school is situated alongside Bantaskin Primary School where our pupils join their mainstream peers, as and when appropriate. Our Secondary Department is situated within Falkirk High School and all learners follow a mainstream timetable with targeted support from Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People. Additionally, Windsor Park Visiting Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People support deaf learners at home, in Early Years settings, Primary and Secondary mainstream and other ASN provisions across our local authority.

Successful applicants will:

  • hold an appropriate teaching qualification
  • be fully registered with the General Teaching Council, Scotland (GTCS)
  • be a fully qualified Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People
  • be able to demonstrate that they possess the commitment, knowledge and skills outlined in the Standard for Full Registration
  • have knowledge and understanding of the specific competencies for teachers of deaf learners
  • be skilled in British Sign Language
  • have a full driving licence and be able to travel throughout Falkirk

You will work 28 hours per week.

This post is temporary until August 2027 to cover maternity leave.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
