Could you be our next Waste Strategy Coordinator within our Waste Management team?

In this role you will lead a small dedicated team. We are looking for candidates that will bring new fresh ideas to help shape how we deal with the challenges of waste and litter as new legislation and opportunities arise. You will be responsible for developing plans and strategies to help adapt our services for the future, serving our residents & trade waste customers as well as improving the local environment. You’ll manage staff delivering educational campaigns to communicate all things waste to our residents, schools and trade waste customers to maximise recycling in the area. You’ll lead in the procurement and management of contracts including those for the sale and disposal of recyclable materials, ensuring compliance with our financial regulations. You’ll manage our key data and play a key role in developing the direction of future service provision, working in partnership with contractors, other Council services and with other organisations and elected members.

What we are looking for…

The ideal person for this role will be an excellent communicator, have detailed knowledge of waste and litter issues, well-developed report writing skills and experience of project and staff management.
