We are pleased to announce that an exciting opportunity has arisen within Fife Council’s Internal Audit Team as an Audit Technician. This role plays a key part in delivering independent and objective assurance on the Council’s governance, risk management, and internal control processes.

Our Internal Audit Team plays a crucial role in helping the Council achieve its objectives by providing assurance that the framework of governance, risk management and control is effective and aligned with the Council’s goals.

By helping to ensure our resources are used efficiently and effectively, you’ll add value for the organisation and help contribute to the delivery of essential services.

As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role under a “blended working” arrangement. Candidates should also be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.

The Person

  • Educated to SCQF Level 7, which includes HNC or SVQ Level 3, in Accounting or equivalent with post qualifying internal audit experience.
  • Good internal audit experience and knowledge.
  • Report writing skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and numerate.
  • Keyboard skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative, managing conflicting demands, and within tight timescales.
  • Experience of dealing with more senior colleagues.
  • Able to foster good relationships with others.
  • Experience of information security and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Team member attitude.
  • Ability to provide a regular and effective service.

We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
