Job Details

The postholder will be responsible for the efficient work supervision and training of Technical staff undertaking the survey and valuation of non-domestic and domestic properties throughout Fife for the purposes of compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll and the Council Tax Valuation List. The Divisional Valuer will also be the Service lead for particular categories of subjects.

The Divisional Valuer will undertake the survey and valuation of the more complex or unusual subjects within the geographical area.

As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a “blended working” arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.

The Person

You must be a full professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (M.R.I.C.S), have experience in the valuation of commercial or non-domestic property and also have a practical working knowledge of the legislation and case law governing Council Tax and non-domestic rating.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
