We are seeking an outstanding leader to join our Executive Team as Executive Director of Finance & Corporate Services. This is a pivotal role, working alongside the Chief Executive and senior leaders to shape the future of Fife and deliver on our ambitious strategic priorities.

About the Role

You will provide visible, influential leadership across the Council, setting and delivering strategic objectives in line with the Plan for Fife. As the Council’s Section 95 Officer you will advise the Council on all financial matters.

Leading the Finance & Corporate Services Directorate you will oversee a diverse portfolio including Finance, HR, ICT, Legal & Democratic Services, Revenue & Commercial Services, and Assessor Services.

The role will require you to build strong relationships with elected members, senior leaders, trade unions, community partners, and external bodies such as COSLA and the Scottish Government.

About you

  • Education to SCQF level 9, which includes a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Membership of an appropriate accounting body.
  • Extensive senior leadership experience in a large, complex, and publicly accountable organisation.
  • A proven track record in managing broad finance portfolios and delivering essential finance services.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership-building abilities.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and personal integrity.

You will have:

Experience in local government, working with elected members, and managing across professional boundaries is desirable.
