Job Details
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to apply for the role of Finance Business Partner.
You’ll lead and manage a section of the corporate Finance function focusing on delivering consistent, high quality, customer focussed service while providing professional financial management support to a designated Directorate Leadership Team.
- Leadership and management: Lead and manage a section of the corporate Finance function providing professional leadership and guidance.
- Strategic influence: Lead a centre of expertise across the Council using your insights to support and influence both strategic and operational decision making.
- Directorate support: Provide professional guidance to a designated Directorate to advise on critical business planning assumptions, help navigate trade-offs, identify opportunities and act as an account manager for end to end financial services.
- Ambassador for the Finance function: Drive delivery of finance initiatives, gaining acceptance from key stakeholders and building strong relationships.

The Person
We are looking for people who meet the following criteria:
- Education: Graduate calibre with supporting CCAB professional qualification.
- Experience: Extensive generalist finance knowledge and expertise across all disciplines.
- Team Player: Strong team player who can collaborate effectively.
- Strategic thinker: Experience of developing strategies and translating these into deliverable plans.
- Consultancy and Facilitation Skills: Able to communicate clearly, influence others and gain credibility.
- Systems: Proficient IT skills with the ability to optimise technology for continuous improvement.
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
