Job Details
The main focus of this post is to support the work of Fife Violence Against Women Partnership and delivering Equally Safe – Scotland’s Strategy for Preventing and Eradicating Violence Against Women and Girls. This involves close working with a range of statutory and third sector organisations, particularly with respect to the following outcomes:
Service providers are more skilled to respond appropriately and consistently to violence against women and those affected
Increased understanding of violence against women as a gender inequality issue
Increased public understanding of violence against women and consequences for those affected
Children, young people and the wider community have a greater understanding of violence against women within the context of healthy relationships
Key Responsibilities include:
- Planning, researching, designing and delivering training, learning programmes, and eLearning packages to build workforce confidence and competence in identifying and responding to VAWG.
- Working with a range of partner agencies to co-ordinate, develop and deliver awareness raising events as required
- Ensuring age-appropriate learning for children and young people about healthy relationships and violence against women
- Contributing to the Fife Violence Against Women Partnership strategy with an emphasis on prevention and community engagement. Increasing public understanding of violence against women and consequences for those affected through public awareness raising campaigns and community working
- Disseminating information widely to relevant organisations and the wider public using a range of media, including through our social media campaigns
- Supporting the monitoring and evaluation across partners relating to relevant standards and frameworks.
- Support the team with other tasks as and when required
- Work closely with job-share partner to share information and ensure efficient delivery of job profile as a whole
As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a “blended working” arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required.
While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
The Person
You will be educated to SCQF level 8 and have significant experience of working in the field of violence against women.
You will have experience of liaising and working with a range of agencies (both voluntary and statutory), as well as service users.
You will have demonstrable skills in developing and delivering training, learning programmes, and events to a wide and varied audience as well as the ability to evaluate and review programmes to ensure they remain relevant and appropriate.
You must be able to travel throughout Fife.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
