Salary: FC6 £31,761.26 - £34,914.86

Working Pattern: 18 or 36 hours per week

Location: Lynebank Hospital Dunfermline (18hrs)

Brunton House Cowdenbeath (18hrs)

County Buildings Cupar (36hrs)

This is an exciting opportunity to work with adults of all ages to improve occupational outcomes within the community setting. You will join a supportive community occupational therapy team.

The focus of the role is working with people to increase independence and/or enable safe care within the home environment. You will carry out outcome focused assessments leading to plans for effective intervention. This may involve equipment and/or minor adaptations.

You will work autonomously within the scope of the role. This includes managing your own caseload and carrying out independent assessments within a person’s home environment. Supervision and guidance will be provided by a qualified Occupational Therapist.

You will complete accurate case recording using our electronic recording system. You will participate in screening requests for Occupational Therapy intervention as part of team duty cover. This requires you to hold effective conversations and apply eligibility criteria to make decisions.

It is expected that you work from the team base regularly to carry out team tasks, including duty, and to participate in and learn from team activity. There is flexibility to carry out some home working using a laptop. You will be provided a uniform for home visits. The role involves lone working in the community. Fife Council provides a mobile phone and fob alert system.

The Person

You will have relevant transferable skills to enable you to work effectively with people, including vulnerable adults, in their own home environment. Skills in assessment of function and risk are essential.

You will be able to work in a person-centred manner using effective communication skills, sometimes in challenging situations.

Maintaining accurate timeous recording of all activity carried out with individuals is essential.

You will require to use several IT systems on a regular basis.

Evidence of further study in a relevant health and social care area is desirable.

You must have the ability to travel throughout Fife.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
