Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and strengthen governance and risk arrangements for the Fife Pension Fund at a time of significant development and change.

As Pensions Governance and Risk Manager, you’ll take a lead role in building a modern, effective and resilient approach to governance, risk and compliance.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Lead the Fund’s risk management approach, including risk registers and horizon scanning.
  • Provide clear reporting and insight to the Pensions Committee and Board.
  • Support training and development for Committee and Board members.
  • Oversee policies, strategies and governance documentation.

You’ll work closely with senior colleagues and play a visible role in influencing how governance and risk are managed across the fund.

This is a great opportunity to make a real impact, helping ensure the long-term integrity and sustainability of the fund.

The Person

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, curious and confident working in a governance or risk environment.

You will have:

  • Experience in governance, risk or compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of pensions or LGPS frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and influence others.
  • Experience developing policies or governance frameworks.
  • The ability to lead or influence work across teams.
  • A relevant qualification in governance, risk, finance or law would be an advantage.

As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a “blended working” arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
