As Social Work Team Manager within Adult Services, you’ll lead a locality-based team to deliver high quality, person-centred statutory social work services for adults and their carer's. You will be accountable for safe decision-making, effective risk management and consistent professional standards across the team, ensuring people receive timely assessment, support planning and review that improves outcomes.
In this role, you will:
· Provide visible leadership and oversight across the team, setting clear expectations and supporting a culture of reflective, strengths-based practice.
· Ensure assessment, care management and review activity is completed to a high standard and within required timescales, with a focus on outcomes and proportionate, least restrictive interventions.
· Formally chair Adult Support and Protection (ASP) case conferences, Adults with Incapacity (AWI) case conferences and other multi-agency professional meetings, ensuring clear analysis, risk management planning, agreed actions and robust recording of defensible decisions.
· Provide regular supervision, coaching and quality assurance, including oversight of complex casework and performance against service priorities.
· Work collaboratively with health colleagues, providers and partner agencies to support safe hospital discharge, prevention of admission, and community-based supports.
· Manage and develop the team’s workforce capacity, including workload allocation, sickness absence management and support for learning and development.
· Contribute to service improvement and change activity, supporting implementation of local and strategic priorities across Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.
The team manager post is based within the Kirkcaldy adult locality area. You will be expected to attend Fife office locations and partner settings as required for operational leadership, meetings and practice oversight.
You’ll bring strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support staff working with complex situations. You will be confident applying relevant legislation and guidance, able to balance professional curiosity with compassion, and skilled in building effective relationships across disciplines to achieve positive outcomes.
