Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 2 Business Insight Analyst to join the Performance and Information Management Unit on a permanent basis.

NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

What the job involves: The Business Insight Analyst role is part of a wider team which has the responsibility for supporting the Service with business insight, helping shape policy and strategy. The role has responsibility for the creation, sourcing, manipulation and interpretation of data. The Business Insight Analyst has responsibility for data fusion, data analysis, data visualisation and reporting which aids business decision making at a strategic and operational level.

The Business Insight Analyst will require to interact and communicate with internal and external stakeholders and will be able to make connections to source data that is not readily accessible. The Business Insight Analyst role requires excellent written and verbal skills and ability to be able to articulate findings in a logical and structured manner. You will have experience in the use of visualisation and reporting tools (such as Power BI/ Business Objects /Tableau/ FME and ArcGIS.

Education to degree level in a related subject (Statistics, Social Sciences, etc.) or previous relevant experience in the research/data analysis field is an essential requirement.

What we’re offering: A core salary starting at £ 39,276.09 rising to £ 47,205.97 on an incremental scale based on a 35 hour per week work pattern, involving working Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

An Annual leave entitlement which starts at 26 days per year, rising to 29 days after 5 years’ continuous service, plus an additional 12.5 Public Holidays per year.
