An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Development & Support Officer within Glasgow City Health Social Care Partnership’s Community Equipment Service.
You will be part of a team responsible for the management of one of the UK’s largest Assistive Technology operations, serving an area which covers over 40% of the Scottish population. Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership operate the Community Equipment Service on behalf of the Equipu partners, which consists of six local authorities and Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Development & Support Officer to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality digital solutions and support services across the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Store Service Manager, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of software systems. This includes both in-house and third-party solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of internal users and deliver efficient, reliable services.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Council, providing technical expertise, managing projects and supporting system users to help drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance software systems
• Install and configure application packages
• Liaise with users to gather and refine system requirements
• Produce documentation and reporting solutions
• Test and evaluate systems, hardware, and software
• Manage development projects and system improvements
• Provide helpdesk and operational support and training
• Manage user and budget access and permissions
• Work with internal teams and third-party suppliers
• Ensure all work takes account of information management, data security and data protection standards.
• Support the introduction of new technologies and processes
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring strong technical and organisational skills, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Essential skills & experience:
• Experience managing or supporting IT projects or services
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to produce complex reports and improve processes
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Excellent working knowledge of IT systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel)
