Job Description

Role – Driver/Caretaker (Older People Day Care Services)
Location – GCHSCP, Older People Day Care Services, Woodside Street Day Care Centre, 891 Garscube Rd, Glasgow G20 7ET and Meadowburn Day Care Centre, 188 Leithland Rd, Glasgow G53 5AQ
Contract Status – Permanent

Older People Day Care Services provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for older adults during the day. Our goal is to promote independence, reduce isolation and enhance quality of life.


As a Driver/Caretaker, you’ll play a vital role by supporting older people with complex needs, ensuring safe transport to and from the centre. This role also involves Caretaking tasks to ensure ongoing maintenance of the building.
What We’re Looking For


• A minimum of Category D1 licence (PCV experience desirable).
• Undertake ongoing Driver Certificate of Professional Competence Training (DCPC)
• Excellent communication and basic numeric skills.
• Ability to work independently and carry out physical duties.
• A friendly, helpful attitude and commitment to safety.
• Operate within Health and Safety at Work legislation.
Desirable Criteria
• MiDAS training and experience with mobility aids.
• First Aid qualification.
• Previous experience in accessible transport.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
