Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Out of Hours (OOH) Duty Officer working within the Home Care Service, where you will report to the OOH Area Operations Manager.
The Home Care Service provides support to predominantly vulnerable service users across Glasgow, with 60% of the service provided in the OOH period. As an OOH Duty Officer , you will be the first point of contact for a team of Operational Support Assistants and a point of contact for queries from home carers, service users and family members, escalating issues as appropriate to the Area Operations Manager.
You will be required to ensure service delivery meets Health & Social Care Standards whilst ensuring phone calls and hospital discharge targets are achieved in relation to call handling. In addition, you will liaise with key stakeholders across the Health & Social Partnership and have some responsibility for the management of staff absence, and arranging short-term relief cover when staff are absent from work, including the deployment and management of agency staff across the service.
You will be required to carry out Work place Observations of home care coordinators, ensuring a high quality service is being provided. Applicants must possess good Organisational and Communication skills, coupled with the ability to monitor, and supervise the work of a group of community and office based staff, providing advice, guidance and support. Experience of managing a team is required.
A knowledge of IT systems including word and excel is required.
The work pattern is as follows:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday 13:00 to 22:30 (60 minute Unpaid Break) then Saturday 7:45 to 22:30 (60 minute Unpaid Break)
Week 2: Sunday 7:45 to 22:30 (60 minute Unpaid Break) then Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 13:00 to 22:30 (60 minute Unpaid Break)
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme & SSSC will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
