Job Description

Join Our Home Care Team – we have part time posts across Glasgow.

Please note, this role does not meet Home Office requirements for Visa Sponsorship.

Role: Home Carer
Location: South, North East and North West
Pay: £14.77 – £16.19 per hour (depending on shift pattern)
Hours: Various part time shifts available – this will be discussed in more detail at interview. Public Holiday working is required.

Are you ready to make a real difference in your community? Join Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) as a Home Carer – a local role supporting local people.

As a Home Carer, you’ll help older and vulnerable residents live independently at home. Your role includes:
• Walking between service users within your local community
• Personal care (washing, dressing, bathing, shaving)
• Meal prep (including meat and pork dishes using ovens, microwaves, air fryers)
• Medication support
• Using specialist moving & handling equipment
• Documenting the care and support offered/provided in the service user's care diary

No Experience? No Problem! We offer a comprehensive 10-day induction:
• 8 days of training at our learning hub in Glasgow City Centre
• 2 days shadowing other experienced carers

Please note – you must be able to complete the 10 day induction which runs full-time: Mon–Fri, 9am–4pm from your start date.

What You’ll Need:
• Compassion and a desire to help others
• Willingness to gain an SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (we’ll support and fund this)
• SSSC registration (must apply within 2 weeks and be registered within 3 months of employment, we’ll cover the cost)
• PVG Scheme membership (you’ll cover the cost)

Please note, you may be required to travel across the Glasgow area depending on service needs.

Interviews will take place 3rd and 4th February 2026.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
