At Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership our home carers provide a lifeline which allows vulnerable citizens of Glasgow to remain independently in their own homes for longer.

Supported Living is a citywide service that supports service users with both personal and practical care tasks, alongside dedicated time during visits to facilitate social support including hobbies, activities and community links. By supporting service users to maintain their independence it can prevent an admission to longer term care.

No previous experience or qualifications are necessary, all training will be provided by our in-house training team to give you the required skills and confidence to enable you to begin your career as a home carer.

A valid UK driving licence is essential for this role. Successful candidates will be required to travel throughout the city due to service requirements.

Due to the nature of this role and function, there is a requirement for you to work a number of Public Holidays which will be agreed between you and your line manager.

The role requires you to have or to have the ability to undertake and attain a SVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent, to meet the requirements of registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). We will provide support and meet the cost for undertaking this qualification. You are required to have obtained SSSC Registration within 6 months of employment.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

These posts are accepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
