Job Description

This is a new and exciting opportunity to lead and manage the Trauma Informed and strength base practice programme for Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) and support the implementation of the ‘National Trauma Transformation Programme (NTTP).

We are seeking a committed and dynamic individual with a relevant professional background, a good working knowledge of the principles of trauma informed care and the National Trauma Transformation Programme (NTTP) and extensive direct experience of working with people who have experienced psychological trauma.

You will have a key role in project management, strategic development and working collaboratively with colleagues and partners, facilitating co-operation through national and local professional networks between partnership agencies and stakeholders, to embed trauma informed practice and policy across services, with the aim of improving outcomes for people that have been impacted by psychological trauma.

The project is supported by GHSCP Trauma Champion, the Transforming Psychological Trauma Implementation Coordinator (TPTIC) and governed by senior managers as part of the Trauma Informed Steering group.

The post will be hosted within GHSCP Learning and Development Team and you will manage a small team of staff committed to the design and delivery of a training strategy aligned to the Transforming Psychological Trauma Knowledge and Skills Framework and evaluating outcomes, for the Scottish workforce (NHS Education for Scotland 2017).

You will demonstrate strong leadership skills and genuine passion for this area of work, with the ability to advocate for trauma informed models of practice across a range of different Services within GHSCP, including supporting leadership training and follow up support to Managers to take a trauma lens to their service and apply the quality indicators.

You will be committed to keeping abreast of research and developments, analyse and present complex information, evaluate outcomes, prepare detailed policy briefings and reports and be willing to participate in national and local forums in sharing good practice. An ability to involve people with lived experience of trauma in the design of the strategy is essential.
