Role – Operational Support Assistant (Out of Hours) (Care Services)
Location – GCHSCP, 100 Borron Street, Glasgow, G4 9XG
Hours and Shift Pattern – as per rota attached. Public Holiday Working is required.
Contract Status – Temporary, up to June 2027

An opportunity has arisen for the position of an Operational Support Assistant (OOH) within the Care Services Operational Support Team at Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP). Care Services deliver essential support to vulnerable older adults across Glasgow, helping them live independently and with dignity in their own homes.
This position is predominately a customer focused call handling service, where you will deal with a variety of telephone enquiries in relation to Customer Service, Hospital Discharge, Home Care and our Help at Home Services.
You will be responsible for updating and maintaining electronic systems and liaising with both internal and external bodies, ensuring excellent customer service is provided at all times.
The successful applicant will also be required to liaise with Home Care Co-ordinators regarding urgent service user reports, and in addition, you will follow our internal procedures for "no access" issues which would include contacting family member/hospitals/emergency services as well as other relevant parties.
You will be a confident, friendly and enthusiastic individual, possessing good interpersonal skills, work well under pressure, and the ability to communicate effectively in a busy operational environment.
You will report to the Area Operations Manager (OOH).
A good understanding of IT systems and proficiency in relevant software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) are essential
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
