Role – Revenue & Property Officer (Homelessness Services)
Location – GCHSCP Homelessness Services, 2 Green Wynd, Glasgow, G40 2TD
Contract Status – Temporary up to 31st March 2027

The Revenue & Property Team plays a pivotal role within the homeless service provided to residents of the city. We link in with Social Care Workers, Property Management Team, Property Allocation team and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for service users citywide.
The role of Revenue & Property Officer is challenging but rewarding and would suit a dynamic, customer-focused individual with the ability to manage their own caseload, the ability to work enthusiastically as part of a fast-paced team, dealing with the needs of some of the most vulnerable members of the community is essential.
The main duties of the position are managing the rent accounts of residents in temporary accommodation, both furnished flats and bed and breakfast accommodation, to ensure maximum benefit uptake and reduced levels of rent arrears. This will involve visits to customers in their temporary accommodation as well as by telephone.
The other main function of the post is to meet with service users to complete the necessary paperwork for their temporary furnished flats. This includes, occupancy agreements, Housing Benefit applications and explaining tenancy rules and responsibilities. We have a full, modern induction and training plan in place for new members of the team as well as ongoing support.
Applicants should be able to maintain attention to detail and accuracy while working in a high demand environment. There is also scope for creative working within an established framework.
You should have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Good communication skills, problem solving skills and computer literacy are also essential. Experience of Housing Benefit legislation and debt management are desirable. It is expected that the suitable applicant will be driven to succeed in achieving results whilst displaying a compassionate approach.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
