Job Description

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our team.

Reporting to the Social Work Services Principal Officer – Health and Safety, you will be joining a team committed to the further development of our health and safety management system and the promotion of a positive health and safety culture. The role will involve working as a member of a team that provides support in a Social Work setting, providing advice and guidance on all health and safety matters. You will attend committees and meetings with senior management, carry out audits and inspections, deliver a range of Health and Safety training courses and will also work with colleagues across, and at all levels of, the organisation. You will monitor and review the implementation of the Service’s Health and Safety policies and objectives across the service.

You will have relevant experience in a similar role and will hold a NEBOSH Diploma or recognised (by IOSH) alternative. You will be, or working towards becoming, a Chartered Member of IOSH. Whilst prior experience of working in the Social Work Services is not essential, a thorough knowledge of related hazards, risks and controls will provide a distinct advantage.

Interviews are expected to take place week commencing 9th February 2026.

These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
