Role – Senior Homeless Worker (Asylum and Refugee Homelessness Services)

Contract Status – Temporary up to 12 months

We are currently looking for a Social Homeless Worker to join the Asylum and Refugee Team within Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), Homelessness Service to work within a new pilot scheme.
The team will focus on helping individuals understand housing options across Scotland, promoting early integration, and reducing reliance on temporary accommodation.
You will work closely with partners including the Home Office, local authorities, and the third sector to coordinate support and facilitate sustainable Move-on pathways.
You will lead a team of Social Care Workers to deliver an efficient and high quality Homelessness service, ensuring the Council’s statutory duties towards homeless service users in relation to accommodation, advice and assistance are met.
You will work in collaboration with partners across Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership, Registered Social Landlord, Private and Third sector agencies to develop pathways and protocols to improve outcomes for homeless households. You will also play a lead role in taking forward the Councils Rapid Rehousing priorities as set out by the Scottish Government.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, willing to learn within a changing environment, with strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to demonstrate an excellent approach to effective partnership working and customer service.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
