Job Description
Role – Senior Learning and Development Officer - ARC/Neurodiversity (Children Servies)
Location – GCHSCP, Glasgow Virtual School, Glasgow Learning Hub (Third Floor), c/o Royston Primary School, Gadshill Street, G21 2NS
Contract Status – Temporary, up to 31 March 2027

The post develops and delivers training to staff across the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) and Education Services on the principles of how best we support autistic and neurodivergent children and young people in our city. Working within the neurodiversity (ND) Professional Learning Framework, in line with the Children's Transformational agenda the post holder will coach staff to become trainers/champions.
Applicants must evidence: sound articulation skills, influencing and networking skills, an ability to involve people with experience in the design of learning interventions; organisational and administrative skills.
The post holder will be qualified to SCQF Level 9 with a relevant qualification in Social Care, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Education or Speech and Language Therapy.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
This is an integrated position as part of the Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership. The successful applicant, if an employee of the Partnership, will be appointed to the post under the terms and conditions of either Glasgow City Council (GCC) or NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC), depending on current employer. If the successful applicant is not an employee of the Partnership, they may choose to be appointed to the post under the terms and conditions of either GCC or NHSGGC.
