Job Description

Role: Senior Learning & Development Officer (Children Services)
Location: GCHSCP, Parkhead Hub, 1251 Duke Street, Glasgow, G31 5NZ
Contract: Temporary, up to 31 March 2027

Our Learning and Development Team delivers a wide range of training opportunities for GCHSCP staff, from core skills and best practice to vocational qualifications and postgraduate study. We are committed to supporting continuous professional development and future-focused learning.

As Senior Learning & Development Officer, you will lead on the Children and Families training agenda, working closely with Service Managers and Heads of Service. Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and delivering training programmes tailored to service needs.
• Attending key meetings to identify training priorities and support progress.
• Managing Learning and Development Officers when required.
• Contributing to the wider learning and development strategy across GCHSCP.

We’re looking for someone with:
• Significant experience in Children and Families services.
• A passion for supporting the learning and development of others.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively and influence positive change.

Applicants must be qualified to SCQF Level 9 with a relevant qualification in Social Work or Social Care. Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
