Job Description

Role – Senior Social Care Worker (Older People Residential)
Location – GCHSCP, Meadowburn Care Home, 188 Leithland Road, Pollok, Glasgow, G53 5AQ
Salary – Starting hourly rate of £21.36 (see attached salary details)
Hours and Shift Pattern – 37 hour per week (see attached work pattern)
Contract Status – Permanent

Meadowburn Care Home plays a significant role within Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP). We offer residential care and specialised support to older adults living with complex needs and cognitive impairment. Our staff team works collaboratively with our partners in health and other professionals to provide comprehensive person-centred care to older adults.

The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to assist Senior Management to promote Glasgow City Council's policy on care for older adults. Applicants must have the ability and skills to manage a range of complexities alongside supervising staff to maintain and improve the safety, well-being and security of service users and the community. Knowledge and skills in promoting holistic, person-centred care, particular to the needs of older adults is essential.

HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level lll (Health and Social Care) or equivalent is desirable. Applications are welcome from ethnic minorities and fluent speakers of other languages, e.g.Cantonese, Hakka, Punjabi, Urdu

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is a statutory requirement for this post under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, you must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from the date you start in this post Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
