Job Description

Role – Senior Storeperson (Care Services)
Location - GCHSCP Equipu, 17-20 Nurseries Road, Baillieston Distribution Centre, Glasgow, G69 6UL
Contract Status – Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Storeperson within Glasgow City Health Social Care Partnership’s Community Equipment Service, where you will report to the Assistant Stores and Distribution Manager.


You will be part of a team responsible for the management of the stores and distribution function of one of the UK’s largest Assistive Technology operations, serving an area which covers over 28% of the Scottish population. Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership operates the Community Equipment Service on behalf of the Equipu partners, which consists of six local authorities and Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS.


The main duties and responsibilities are:


• Supervising a team of store persons ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
• Ensuring stock control systems are being operated efficiently using current technology.
• Good administration skills are required for the accurate maintenance of stock records, collation of daily receipts and providing management with daily forward planning. Liaising with internal and external services to support store service.
• Co-operating with the introduction of new procedures and/or new equipment/technology associated with the role.
• To deliver general technical and practical training to the warehouse team in an engaging and consistent manner.
• Carry out accurate stock takes as instructed to ensure that all stock is accounted for and losses and errors are minimised.
• Correctly report damages and/or errors to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse and reduce the risk of not meeting customer expectations.
• Keep the warehouse tidy at all times so that stock is never carelessly damaged and the health and safety of all staff and visitors is not compromised.


These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
