Role - Service Manager (Care Services)
Location: GCHSCP, Care Services, Blair Court, 100 Borron Street, Glasgow, G4 9XEContract: Temporary up to 3 months

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead one of the largest and most ambitious social care services in Scotland?

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to join our Care Services leadership team at a pivotal time for the service. This is an opportunity to influence how care is delivered across the city, support service redesign and play a leading role in shaping the future of assessment, reablement and community support.

As part of the senior management team, you will report directly to the Interim Head of Service and provide strategic and operational leadership across key citywide services. You will lead large-scale services that support some of Glasgow's most vulnerable citizens, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care and strong operational performance.

This is far more than a traditional operational management role. We are reviewing and developing our current service model with a clear focus on maximising independence, improving outcomes and responding to increasing demand across health and social care. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence this work and contribute to the future direction of Care Services across Glasgow.

Our services operate at significant scale, supporting around 4,500 people across the city through a workforce of more than 2,500 staff. The Assessment and Reablement Service plays a vital role in supporting timely hospital discharge, preventing unnecessary admissions and helping people regain confidence and independence following illness or injury.

The post holder will provide leadership to a large multidisciplinary team comprising Occupational Therapists, Team Leaders and Social Care Workers. You will oversee assessment, hospital discharge and reablement pathways, ensuring people receive the right support at the right time whilst maintaining high standards of quality, performance and professional practice.

We are looking for an individual who can:
• Lead and inspire large teams through change.
• Provide clear operational and strategic leadership.
• Support service improvement and redesign.
• Build strong partnerships across health and social care.
• Manage staff, financial and service resources effectively.
• Promote a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the highest standards of care, governance and performance.

You will have substantial experience of senior operational management within health, social care or a related public service environment, together with experience of managing people, budgets and service performance. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering service improvement and achieving positive outcomes for people who use services.
Applicants must possess a recognised professional qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Community Education, Domiciliary Care or another relevant discipline, together with a relevant management qualification.

Membership of the PVG Scheme is required for this post. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
