Role – Team Leader (Children's Services)

Contract Status – Temporary, up to 31 March 2027

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is recruiting a Team Leader to join our Children’s Services team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and influence how we support care-experienced children, young people, and families across the city.
You will play a key role in amplifying the voices of children and families, embedding trauma-informed practices, and supporting the delivery of The Promise and United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) commitments across GCHSCP.
As Team Leader, you will:
• Lead and manage the Promise Participation Team
• Develop and support Glasgow’s Young Champs Groups
• Promote and implement Glasgow’s Promise Plan 24–30
• Lead on the development of a Lived Experience Participation Strategy
• Create frameworks to support employees and carers with lived experience
• Represent GCHSCP in local and national forums
• Lead the Corporate Parenting Forum
• Influence and challenge systems to improve outcomes for children and families
• Identify and deliver learning and development programmes
• Stay informed of national policy and practice developments
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with care-experienced children, young people, and families
• Understands the impact of trauma and neurodiversity on relationships and engagement
• Has strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Can build positive relationships with people with complex needs
• Can support people to overcome personal and structural disadvantages.
• Has experience working collaboratively with partner agencies and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
The applicant will have the ability to demonstrate good leadership skills, possess good administration and organisational expertise as well as good verbal, written and communication skills.
It is desirable that candidates have personal lived experience and/or have cared for someone who has lived care experience.
Applicants must either possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
