What you need to know
Hours: 35 hours per week, worked over 5 days out of 7 Depending on the venue, weekday shifts can start as early as 5:45am and finish as late as 10:30pm, with weekend shifts running between 8am and 8pm. Rotas usually follow a three-week cycle, giving you plenty of notice of your working hours.
Contract type: Permanent
Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £16.98 per hour.
Location: City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview.
What you’ll do
As an Assistant Manager, you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Assistant Cluster Manager. You’ll play an essential role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our wet side and Glasgow Club venues while driving income, sales and delivering excellent customer service. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference by:
- Leading and supporting your team to deliver high standards across all areas of the venue, including swimming pools, fitness facilities, and events.
- Managing day-to-day operations, from health & safety compliance to shift rotas and staff performance, ensuring the venue runs safely and efficiently.
- Driving footfall and financial performance by achieving sales targets, monitoring income, and ensuring the venue is presented to the highest standards.
- Planning and delivering events, activities, and programs that engage the community and enhance the customer experience.
- Working with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers to continually improve facilities and services.
- Engaging directly with customers, resolving queries and complaints, and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
In this role, you’ll be instrumental in helping people get active, supporting our communities, and making sure every aspect of the venue runs seamlessly.

- Previous experience in managerial/supervisory role
- Evidence of effective leadership, including responsibility for staff management
- Evidence of customer focus, demonstrating delivery of effective customer services
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Membership of PVG Group will be required
