The role:
As an Assistant Venue manager, you’ll be an integral part of the team, you will be assisting the Venue Manager in the supervision, development and motivation of the Venue Management team. The Venue Management team are responsible for the Mitchell Library back of house operations and security whilst contributing to the efficient running of events and also the safe and efficient running of the Mitchell Library.
The candidate:
If you’re interested in joining us as an Assistant Venue manager, you’ll need:
- Experience in a venue and staff management related position.
- Ability to supervise a team, allocating staff as appropriate and monitoring results.
- Must have experience of building and contractor management.
- Working knowledge of appropriate Health and Safety regulations.
- Good communication, customer service and influencing skills.
What you’ll do
Assist the Venue Manager in the supervision, development and motivation of the venue team including front and back of house security whilst contributing to the efficient running of events and also the safe and efficient running of the Mitchell Library complex.
Key duties include
- Liaise with external contractors, colleagues, programmers, and partners to ensure the effective delivery of services and safe operations of the venue.
- Plan and organise the work of the Mitchell attendants, allocating tasks, giving instruction as appropriate.
- Ensure the satisfactory presentation of the venue, log repairs and refer serious issues as necessary.
- Line management of employees, leading on ER tasks in accordance with Glasgow Life policy.
- Work with other Assistant Mangers to ensure staffing levels are maintained, responsible for the management of shift rotas, annual leave and similar operational admin tasks.
