What you need to know

Who can apply:

  • This vacancy is open to current colleagues of Glasgow City Council or one of its Arm’s Length External Organisations (ALEOs) only.

Hours: We are looking for people who are flexible, can work Monday to Sunday, evenings and crucially weekends as and when required.

Contract type:

  • Staff Bank (work on an as-needed basis, ideal if you need flexibility)

Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £13.89 per hour.

  • At Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 2 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow G2 3NY with excellent public transport links and paid parking nearby

What you’ll do

As a Box Office Clerk, you’ll be an integral part of an established team, reporting to the Assistant Box Office Manager (Operations). You’ll play an essential role in selling tickets and providing customer service advice on our booking line and in person from the Box Office counter.

You will be working across Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, City Halls and the Old Fruitmarket venues.

On occasion you may work at external events in some of the city’s outdoor spaces, such as Glasgow Green or Kelvingrove Bandstand.

As a Box Office Clerk you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Arts & Music team. We provide a valuable and meaningful experiences through arts and music. Our high-quality services, world class events and festivals benefit the people of Glasgow. These contribute to Glasgow visitor economy. We make sure everyone gets the most of Glasgow Life and use of our culture to promote inclusion and happiness.

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced customer facing role. Ideally sales and customer service experience Including payment processing
  • Demonstrate experience of handling customer correspondence
