What you need to know

Hours: 17.5 per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term until 28 July 2028

Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £20.57 per hour.

Location: Hybrid. You will spend part of your week at home, and part of your week in one of our offices.

What you’ll do

As a Health and Fitness Development Officer – Fitness & Gym Development, you’ll be a part of an established Health and Fitness Team, reporting to the Health and Fitness and Infrastructure Manager.

The Health and Fitness Development Officer role supports the development of Gym and Group Fitness services and products, cultivating innovative services that meet customer needs, enhance retention, and grow income. The role also plays a key part in workforce development and digital engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Product and Service Development

Develop and improve premium fitness products, for example (but not limited to) personal training, Hyrox fitness opportunities, reformer Pilates, and specialised fitness events packages to ensure city wide collaboration and success.

  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation

Evaluate the impact of training and product development initiatives, monitor performance targets and customer feedback and stay informed on industry innovations, technologies, and instructor engagement strategies to improve programming, products and services.

  • Digital Strategy Implementation

Support the creation and distribution of fitness content across digital platforms (e.g., app, web, digital displays, and timetables). Contribute to the execution of Glasgow Sport’s wider digital strategy to enhance visibility and reach.

  • Customer Retention Initiatives

Contribute to the development and implementation of retention strategies that improve engagement and reduce attrition through targeted programming and digital integration.

  • Customer Experience

Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure consistent standards across all Glasgow Sport venues.

  • Experience in a similar role or HND/Degree Level
