To help us achieve that, we are looking for qualified Lead Swimming Teachers to join our team on a permanent part time basis. As a Lead Swimming Teacher, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the delivering fun and exciting lessons to our Learn to Swim customers who range from Pre-School to Adults, Beginners to Improvers.

Hours:

We are specifically recruiting for the following shifts:

• Saturday 8:40am-1pm at Glasgow Club Springburn
• Sunday 2:40 – 7pm at Glasgow Club Tollcross

Contract type: Permanent

Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £15.81 - £17 per hour (approx).

Location: At either Glasgow Club Springburn or Glasgow Club Tollcross with both excellent public transport links and free parking on site.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

What you’ll do

As a Lead Swimming Teacher you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Swim Officers/Swim Co-ordinators. Acting as a positive role model, you will support, develop and monitor the swimming teachers to deliver the best possible experience for our customers. The Lead Swimming Teacher plays a vital role in the successful delivery of our Learn to Swim programme across all venues. The post provides an essential link between the Swim Co-ordinators and Swim Teachers, with responsibility for supporting, supervising and mentoring teaching staff, as well as acting as a key point of contact for parents and guardians and delivering lessons to our members.

If you’re interested in joining us as a Lead Swimming Teacher, you’ll must have one of the following qualifications:

• Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification (SSTQ)
• UKCC Level 2
• STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming (please note, STA Award cannot be considered

 

 

 

 

 

We are also looking for candidates who have the following essentials:

• Experience of mentoring, supporting and developing swimming teachers
• Highly motivated, professional and innovative
• Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work
• Experience/knowledge and teaching swimming lessons within an established programme of lessons
• The ability to work weekends to meet the needs of our core programme
