What you need to know

Hours: 14 hours per week.
Contract type: Fixed Term until 31 March 2027
Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis.
Location: City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview.
What you’ll do
As a Learning Assistant, you’ll be a part of the museums learning and engagement team, reporting to the Learning and Access Curator. You’ll play an essential role in facilitating museum activity in community venues. Engaging groups of adults with our museums and wellbeing programme, your work will make a visible and lasting difference:

We’re looking for:
- Relevant experience of working with art, drama, social history, natural history or science and technology in an educational or community setting.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including experience of providing information and/or delivering learning activities to groups/members of the public.
- Ability to build relationships with groups and a diverse range of organisations within the community.
- Energy and enthusiasm for a delivery-focused role.
- Ability to evaluate and reflect on content and delivery of programmes and adapt accordingly to meet group needs.
- Organisational skills – managing work programme as well as managing groups / sessions.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to work independently using own initiative.
- Motivated to learn about museum collections and exhibitions and update knowledge regularly.
