Media Literacy or the ability to critically analyse stories presented in the mass media and to determine their accuracy or credibility is an essential skill in our increasingly online world of media and communications abundance. Ofcom’s research has shown that certain demographics (e.g. those with low digital skills, those living with long term health conditions and young people) are more likely to lack essential Media Literacy skills. • Community Engagement – engage with the public to understand their digital experience.
• Partnership Engagement – work with key stakeholders to understand priority issues in relation to Media Literacy across the city, the current demand, capacity to meet need and to identify gaps in current provision.
• Equalities – work with equality groups and groups with protected characteristics to ensure we understand their needs and concerns about online safety to enable us to shape services to meet their requirements.
• Training and Awareness – develop training materials and short courses for front line advisors and learners in a variety of settings.
• Networking and Benchmarking – Lead on networking and benchmarking activities with identified partner projects in England and Wales. Identify and share best practice in Media Literacy awareness from other public and voluntary sector providers.

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills and experience:
• Experience of delivering learning and/or employability projects, stakeholder engagement, performance and quality reporting and evaluation.
• Experience of creating and delivering new learning interventions.
• You will be flexible and adaptable with a positive and proactive attitude.
• You will be able to work well individually and contribute as part of a dynamic team.
• Excellent digital and communication skills.
