Location:

  • Hybrid option. You can spend part of your week at home, and part of your week in one of our offices. Flexibility is required around timing of events.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Event Manager you’ll be a part of the Events team, reporting to the Senior Event and Operations Lead. You’ll play an essential role in leading a portfolio of event bidding, delivery and activation ensuring strategic alignment with the Glasgow Event Strategy. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This could be:

  • Creating cultural experiences through the events that we deliver.

We’re looking for:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent employment experience in a similar role within a major events environment, that works across event bidding and event delivery
  • Proven track record in project management and delivery of large-scale internationally significant events and projects
  • Proven experience in managing major events and/ or projects with multiple partner organisations including stakeholder management and reporting (including against targets) to City, National and international bodies.
  • Proven experience in establishing governance, project planning, reporting and teams to deliver major events and projects
  • Experience of lead responsibility for controlling budgets circa £1M+
  • Excellent knowledge of, and existing relationships with, event industry partners, programmes and organisations.
  • Excellent communications skills including producing regular high-quality reports and presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Experience managing a team, and managing teams of minimum 4+
  • Ability to communicate and work in partnership with multiple internal and external partners and stakeholders across hierarchies.
  • Ability to write reports at a strategic and tactical level for major events and projects
  • Ability to prioritise workload within a multi-disciplined environment, meeting pre-determined deadlines and ensuring work is accurate and methodical.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required for your role
