Job Description

Glasgow Life is looking for a Sport Development Officer (Training Academy) to join us on a 35 Hours per week (full time), permanent contract. As a Sport Development Officer, you will be joining our in-demand Glasgow Sport Training Academy. You will be part of a dedicated team which supports development & delivery of sport employability, coaching & volunteering programmes in the city. The Sport Development Officer is aligned to Sports’ Training Academy, which is designed to support those looking to increase their skills, or who are new to the industry, with industry specific training that offers a pathway into a career in sport and leisure, through the implementation of comprehensive training and education development plans in line with GL strategic priorities as well as Glasgow’s Physical Activity and Sport Strategy.

The role
As a Sport Development Officer, you will be an integral part of the team, you will work within the Glasgow Sport Training Academy, leading the delivery and development of employability and volunteer programmes with recognised qualifications across the city.
Reporting to Senior Health & Wellbeing Development Officer and collaborating with an established team.

The candidate
If you are interested in joining us as a Sport Development Officer, you will need:
• A relevant qualification in sport, physical activity, health, education, or learning development.
• A SQA Assessor/Verifier qualification.
• Evidence of employability/training programme delivery & assessment.
• Evidence of collaborating with statutory bodies & third sector organisations.

Our city-wide contracts mean you will be flexible to work in any of our locations.

Some of our roles are currently piloting hybrid working, with teams working between the office and home. Your line manager will agree these days with you. This balance enables you to continue much-needed collaborative working.

Our Emirates Arena office has great links to public transport/free parking.

This role is working 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri (9am – 5pm), however evening and weekend working may be required.
