Are you a passionate Swim Teacher and looking for flexible working hours within an established programme of lessons?
If so, Glasgow Life is looking for qualified Swimming Teachers to join our team on a permanent part time basis. We are offering flexible contracts (including BANK) across our range of swimming pools. As a Swimming Teacher, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering fun and exciting lessons to our Learn to Swim customers who range from Pre-School to Adults, Beginners to Improvers.
Our positions cover city wide meaning you could work in any of our venues delivering Swimming Lessons; this includes Glasgow Club Scotstoun, Glasgow Club Maryhill, Glasgow Club Springburn, Glasgow Club Tollcross, Glasgow Club Gorbals, Glasgow Club Pollok. Our BANK positions also offer a great range of flexibility for candidates to balance teaching swimming alongside studies or other commitments candidate may have.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £23,148.43 to £24,638.48 ( pro-rated ) per year which equates to approx. £12.50 to £13.50 per hour. The more experience you have, the higher the hourly rate!

The role
As a Swimming Teacher, you will be an invaluable part of our team and by using your skills and knowledge you will teach our members the invaluable life skill of swimming. You will report to the Swim Co-ordinators within our venues and work alongside an established team of teachers. Don’t worry if you are new to teaching or don't have a lot of experience; we can provide support from our Lead Teachers and Tutors who can help bring out the best in you! If you have the right aptitude and enthusiasm; we will work with you to make you the best teacher possible.
The candidate
If you’re interested in joining us as a Swimming Teacher, you’ll need the following essentials:
• Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification (SSTQ) OR UKCC Level 1 OR UKCC L2 Swim Teachers Qualification
• Other qualifications may be considered if they are comparable to the above
• Experience/knowledge and enthusiasm of working with children ages 4yrs and above in a group environment
• Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work
• The ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of our core programme

Our city-wide contracts mean you will be flexible to work in any of our locations. We currently operate our lessons across 6 pools in Glasgow; Scotstoun, Tollcross, Springburn, Maryhill, Pollok and Gorbals. This role is to work within our evening & weekends programme where our shifts are Monday to Friday 3:40-8pm, Saturday 8:40am-1pm and Sunday 8:40am-1pm and 3:40-8pm.
All our venues have great links to public transport and either free parking or parking nearby.
