Job Description

Contract and Hours: Permanent Part Time and Bank Staff between 4.5 to 20 hours per week 
Salary: £21250.43 to £22813.48 per year pro rata / £11.64 to £12.50 per hour (dependant on experience) with potential to earn more based on your working pattern

Glasgow Life is looking for qualified Swimming Teachers to join us on a part time/bank basis with a permanent contract.  As a Swimming Teacher, you will be joining our in-demand Learn to Swim Programme for children and young people. You will be part of a dedicated team who care deeply about delivering fun and exciting lessons to our Learn to Swim customers.  People of all ages are eager to learn to swim, it’s a great way to exercise, have fun and open the doorway to seeing the world in a completely different way.  Our Swimming Teachers are critical in allowing us to create and develop safe swimmers across the city who can go on to take this skill with them from Spain or to Scotstoun!

The role 
As a Swimming Teacher, you’ll be an integral part of the team by teaching our customers this invaluable life skill. You’ll be reporting to the Swim Co-ordinators within our venues and working alongside an established team. So don’t worry if you are still building your experience after gaining your qualification. If you have the aptitude and enthusiasm; we can work with you to give you these opportunities. 

The candidate 
If you’re interested in joining us as a Swimming Teacher you’ll need: 
•    Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification OR UKCC Level 1 / UKCC L2 Swim Teachers Qualification (Essential)
•    Other qualifications may be considered if they are comparable to the above
•    Experience/knowledge and enthusiasm of working with children ages 4yrs and above in a group environment (Essential)
•    Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work (Essential)

Our city-wide contracts mean you will be flexible to work in any of our locations. However we currently operate our lessons across 7 pools in Glasgow; Scotstoun, Tollcross, Bellahouston, Springburn, Maryhill, Pollok and Gorbals. 

All our venues have great links to public transport and either free parking or parking nearby.
