Contract and Hours: Permanent Part Time and Bank Staff between 4:20hrs to 25hrs per week 
Salary: £21250.43 to £22813.48 per year pro rata / £11.64 to £12.50 per hour (dependant on experience) with potential to earn more based on your working pattern

Glasgow Life is looking for qualified Swimming Teachers to join their team on a permanent basis. We offer flexible contracts between 4:20hrs and 25hrs (1 and 5 shifts per week) across our range of swimming pools. As a Swimming Teacher, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering fun and exciting lessons to our Learn to Swim customers who range from Pre-School to Adults; Beginners to Improvers.

The role 
As a Swimming Teacher, you will be an invaluable part of the team by using your skills and knowledge to teach our members the invaluable life skill of swimming. You will report to the Swim Co-ordinators within our venues and work alongside an established team of teachers. Don’t worry if you are new to teaching and don't have a lot of experience; we can provide support from our Lead Teachers and Tutors who can help bring out the best in you! If you have the right aptitude and enthusiasm; we will work with you to make you the best teacher possible. 

The candidate 
If you’re interested in joining us as a Swimming Teacher you’ll need: 
•    Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification OR UKCC Level 1 OR UKCC L2 Swim Teachers Qualification (Essential)
•    Other qualifications may be considered if they are comparable to the above
•    Experience/knowledge and enthusiasm of working with children ages 4yrs and above in a group environment (Essential)
•    Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work (Essential)

Our city-wide contracts mean you will be flexible to work in any of our locations. However we currently operate our lessons across 7 pools in Glasgow; Scotstoun, Tollcross, Bellahouston, Springburn, Maryhill, Pollok and Gorbals. 

All our venues have great links to public transport and either free parking or parking nearby.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
