We are currently looking for 3 Employability & Skills Advisors to join our team on a fixed-term basis for a period of 2 years from date of appointment.

Position Details

From the initial point of contact all the way through to sustained and meaningful employment  - as well as all points in between – JBG’s employment and skills services provide tailored support to hundreds of customers across the city.  As well as supporting unemployed customers into work, we are also determined to tackle in – work poverty, supporting employees in low – skilled and low wage jobs.  Our services are designed to ensure they are accessible to local communities across Glasgow recognising that for many customers initial engagement may be the most difficult step on a long journey back into employment.

As one of our Employability and Skills Advisors, you will promote our services, engage with new partners, strengthen community connections and create new referral pathways for key target groups. You will ensure all customers are provided with tailored support to help them overcome any barriers and to secure employment. Just as importantly you will be a friendly and reassuring face and voice for our customers, providing support, encouragement and a friendly ear to those who need it most and you will never lose sight of your – and JBG’s -responsibility to deliver the best possible service.

The role requires excellent communication and IT skills such as accessing and updating our Client Management System, being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including MS Teams.

Upholding and complying with GDPR and confidentiality standards are essential as well as complying with criteria set by funders.

Further details regarding what this role entails are noted within the Job Description for the post, whilst the Person Specification section confirms the key competencies you are required to demonstrate in your application (we recommend using the STAR technique – situation, task, action, result – in application and interview to demonstrate the key competencies).

The annual salary for the post starts at £31,448.92 per annum, progressing to £35,701.50 an incremental scale. This is based on a 35 hours per week, working Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm (45 min lunch break) and Friday 9am – 4pm (1 hour lunch break).
